Sweet Memories by Amelia

It has been almost 3 months since i really sat down to update my blog. So many things happened these 3 months. I'm now in Melbourne for my degree conversion in Occupational Therapy and i've been here for 1 month already. So fast!! Throughout this 1 month i've made so many new friends and met up with old ones too. It's truly a wonderful experience and like what my sister said "Make full use of this 1 yr, eat, play and travel all you want but of course studying hard too.."

Realise that i've made quite a bit of changes to my lifestyle such as going out to shop every sat and meeting up with friends during sch term. In S'pore i really didnt had the luxury of time to do all these stuffs. I was engrossed in my studies, clinical attachment, bazaars, designing new creations. I could say now it's a break for me and also a time to appreciate what's around me especially the beautiful scenery in Melbourne.

I'm staying alone in a studio apt with a bed room cum study room and an attached toilet cm standing shower & a kitchen and balcony too. It's a really cosy home.. it's like my hideout after a tring day (school; battling with the strong wind when walking out from sch to tram stop). Even though the apt isnt that big, but when it comes to cleaning, it's really not an easy task cos the floorings are carpet except for the toilet and kitchen. Now i can understand how is it like being a housewife..hehe

I also do my own cooking and my family are surprised that i could cook pretty well (took photos). It's a therapeutic experience when it comes to cooking. However, these days i found myself running out of ideas to cook. And becos of the cold night, i'm so lazy to cook in the cold kitchen...hehe.

Initially when i first moved in, i found myself sitting in front of the com almost every moment and it wasnt a good thing cos it seems like i'm in my own world and cut off from the outside world (as in not knowing what is happening in the news). So i decided to get a small tv to keep myself entertain while i have my lunch and dinner. Australia channels are kinda limited and the shows aint really interesting cos it's all aussie soap dramas n not my favourite HK/Taiwan/Korean dramas....haha.. But as i watched them, they're kinda interesting after a while.

Oh ya, i've also been to Mt buller to experience snow for the FIRST time in my life. I really had a lot fun building snowmans and sliding down slopes. And of course snapping photos. I hope to go back again next year :)

Shopping in Melbourne is really fun and interesting too cos me and my friends would visit those 2nd hand vintage stores and we can find really good stuffs. Also there're huge sales going on at this period of time and me got quite some stuffs :) It's really cheap!!! 5-20bucks only!!

Yea, and me also have been going ard eating.

i'm also really fortunate to have a friend, Mei Qing who was really nice to bring me ard Melbourne during the first week. Met her friends too who were really friendly and helpful too :)

School is so far ok, lots of readings and essays to complete. I'm kinda stress up with one of my essays cos i'm not sure how would i fare in the first one that i've completed. Really hope the tutor could mark faster so that i know where i stand b4 diving into the 2nd piece of essay. Praying hard not to get a "T"= trash or F or D... I'm so boggled up by this s***** essay... arharh...

So yup, this is wat i've experienced in 1 mth. There's lots of other stuffs that happen too but shall just keep this post short.

Oh goodness, it has been quite a while since i've updated this blog of mine. Yup, me have been busy for the past few months with my bazaars, sourcing for materials trip and also preparing for my further studies (degree in occuaptional therapy) in melbourne for approx 1 yr. Luckily this month i'm more free cos no bazaars so i'm just slacking at home playing farm town and restaurant city. Once in a while, i'll receive online orders and customisation so this will keep me busy for a while. Then i'll return to the playing mode again.

for the past few days, i've been going out to check out my newly rented sale box at Otaku House (at iluma shopping mall in Bugis). Sales is so-so but just wanted to try out how's the response over there. Definetly, like what my friends say, bazaars are better right? Yea. total agree with them :)

Today, me finally went cycling with my grp of OT gals. They have been asking me to cycle with them at east coast but i'm always tied down by my biz. So glad that this month is a free month for me. The weather was really good cos no rain but the sun was killing us-- turned us all to black chickens..hehe. After the 3h (ermm.. i think only 2hrs cos we kept taking rest under the trees cos our butts was aching too), the gals told me that there's a tradition to the east coast cycling, and that is to eat subway. Subway was really filling and it's my first time anyway cos today i skipped breakfast for the huge lunch. It taste pretty good and mayb next time when i'm really hungry, i'll eat subway again. We ate and talked and it was really enjoyable cos me haven meet them for quite a while ever since FYP presentation.

After eating the filling sandwich, we sat the bus to suntec and as usual, i'll fall asleep in the bus (vestibular really calms me down). I was really tired out cos the sun was draining all of us. Luckily my friends woke me up, if not i'll just sleep all the way to the last stop :) So what did we do at suntec?? We went to swensens cos it's 2.30pm!!! That means there's the student deal. Me and shi wen ate the 1 for 1 ice-cream (i ate sticky chewy choco & shi ate nutty dont know what..hehe). Felt so much more awake after eating the ice-cream :) Then linda and lee mei had a another big meal (pasta and burger). I think they really have a universe stomach. We sat for another 2h plus talking abt ourselves and it was great!

Really enjoyed today's activities, partly because of the food and of course most importantly, chating and sharing our views with each other. Thank you Sarah (whom we talk while we cycle), Shi Wen, Linda aka Da Chua and Lee Mei. Next time want to go cycle let me know :) Maybe we can try in-line skates too :)

1 more day and 2008 will be the past and 2009 will be coming. It's a little scary that the new year is coming cos this means that I'll be going for my last 3C clinical, i'll be graduating in a few months which means i'm an occupational therapist and no longer with the word student. But there's something that i really like about 2009 and that is, i'm no longer a student and is a free bird. I can go for my bazaars with my mummy and at the same time going around sourcing for new items and ideas for my accessories business. I've been doing my accessories biz for almost 3 years and its still going strong. I'm really glad that watever i've been putting in for this biz is producing fruits ($$$).

In about 1/2 a year, i'll be packing my bag to embrace my new future at Aussie. Going there for my degree conversion for abt a year. Haven decided which uni to go after 3 unis have accepted me. Really a tough choice. Knowing that i've to go overseas for that long, i'm gg to miss my family, friends and most importantly my biz...

Anyway, the new year will be full of exciting events so let's welcome 2009 with smiles :)

It has been a while ever since i've updated my blog. Been busy with school work, clinical attachment and exams. Luckily, this year, i;ve made some time off to invite my friends over to have a mini potluck and present xchange at my house. It's really great to see all of them again. We playing "zhong ji mi ma" to clear the food away and it was really a good way to do so.
This X'mas party was a fun one cos of the cruchies that Zhi Qi made, log cake that daphne & Yi Wen brought, ice-cream and chewy junior from Val, drinks from Hung Loong, fruits from Leonard and lastly, the food that my lovely mummy made.
Eventhough everyone was tired, we enjoyed ourselves most during present presentation time...
Hope everyone out there will have a blessed and happy Christmas!!

ENJOY!

Finally!

Yippe!! Finally my exams are over and I can wholeheartedly think about my upcoming birthday celebration and my trip to Penang. Exam was a little crappy. I was practically writing some GP essay which was something i didn't like at all. However, I think i can pass my papers pretty ok. hehe!

Tomorrow will be my b'day celebration and I hope i've gotten enough balloons to hang around the house and also around my estate so that my wonderful friends know how to find their way through my estate which is some what like a maze. There are like so much to do tomorrow cos i'll need to meet my seniors for the handovering of the cases that they were handling in Penang. Then Huda, my 1st 3 mths JC clsmate is meeting me for a short while. After which my OT clsmate wants to meet me at woodlands to pass me some stuffs. Then at 4pm, my sec gal friends have offered to help me with the decoration which i'm so thankful of. Really cant imagine how many balloons i've to blow if i'm doing it alone. Think i'll vomit after blowing....haha

Preparation to Penang wasn't very much settled. I've booked the flight for my friends but the bus to JB airport hasn't been confirmed cos the uncle hasn't replied to my friend. Hmm.. hope everything will be settled very soon. As my luggage wise, really not sure how to pack. There seem to be so much things to bring--- 3 sets uniform, shoes, shopping clothes, books, lappie..etc. Hope the 15kg allowance would be enuf. Haiz.. on monday all my OT classmates will be gg for their clinicals and i'll still have 1 week to prepare everything. Hope they will adapt to their work envt quickly and do their best :) Jia you pp... will miss u guys when i'm over at penang...

High Tea

In the midst of exams preparation, i've decided to make some time for this group of friends who wanted to catch up with each other. It was very sweet of ZQ to lend us her house for this East & West High Tea session. We had western style food and Chinese Tea (a great mixture of food).

Me brought agar agar jelly; ZQ made her speciality-- cocktail sausage salad with honey and lime dressing (it was really a huge plate); Daphne made fruit tarts which was delicious (think she could sell them already); Yi Wen brought strawberries; HL brought his bag of craps (hee... i think those who were there, knew what happen to him n ZQ's hp hippo) and lastly Leo who came slightly late cos he was too sleepy to leave the house.

It was a great catch up moment cos we haven met for almost 1 month after Leo's b'day. We updated one other what we were up to and it was interesting to know that YW is now internship at a sec sch teaching CL (really admire her teaching CL). And for the others, ZQ's still with her advertising and the others are either slacking at home or waiting for sch to reopen.

We enjoyed the delicious food, played uno stacko, took photos and talk nonsense. Hope that these buddies have gain another level of understanding of my course and also my mini myofascia release massage.

Found a program that makes scrapbook so easily. It's so fun dragging photos and inserting text on to the beautifully made templates. Ok, shall end here... need to bury myself again with all the books...

Banging and drilling. That was what i've been hearing for the whole day. My neighbour's house is going through a state of transformation and this will only end at the on dec. Gosh! Hope i'll not be suffering from post-construction syndrome.
